VENDOR SHOWCASE: K. Macarons & Pastries

Tell us a little about yourself...

My name is Kendra Kozek, I'm 21 years old and originally from Golden, BC.  I graduated from pastry arts at the Culinary Institute of Canada here in Charlottetown.  My hobbies include baking, going to the beach (I never had the ocean near me growing up, living in the rocky mountains!) and doing yoga.

What inspired you to begin baking?

I’ve always enjoyed baking, and have been good at it so it's what I’m drawn to. Growing up, I mainly only watched the food network and baking competitions on TV (and still do!), and I just love it.

Do you run your business full time?

I do! At certain times I may have a little part time gig, but yes, I want to run my business full time. It's my first priority.

What’s your favourite part of the baking process?

Definitely seeing the finished product! I love when things turn out great and are picture worthy. It makes me proud of what I can do.

What is your next step in your career?

The next step for me would ultimately be opening up my own shop/store front. It has always been my dream, and I now know it is possible due to the success and great customer base I have here in PEI.

How large of events are you able to accommodate?

At this time I would have to say probably up to 300 people. It really depends on what the client wants. I can't fully say until I know more of the details, but I try my best to accommodate everyone.

How can we order from you?

As of right now you can order via our Facebook page, email or by phone. I am working on a website and maybe easier ways of communication.

What is your favourite part of living in PEI?

Having the small town feel, but also being able to have everything you need from a city.  Also how welcomed my business was; just the island and people in general are very welcoming and nice.

Thanks for taking part in our Vendor Showcase, Kendra! You can find Kendra on her Facebook & Instagram! Check out some shots of her mouthwatering work below.

Until next time,
