Sean & Roberta = Married

When I first became a wedding planner, I had no idea the impact my couples would have on me and the life long relationships and friendships I would form. I didn’t know Sean & Roberta before September 2017, but today I would consider them to be extremely close friends of mine. I don’t go more than a few days at a time without talking to her in some capacity. Roberta and I just clicked immediately and we were always on the same page, it seemed. After their wedding, it felt like I was losing a relationship, knowing we wouldn’t be having our scheduled monthly meetings anymore. But guess what? We kept in touch, we actively became participants in each others lives and they’ve generously welcomed me into their home each time I’ve been in Toronto since, where we always have the best time - whether it’s watching garbage Netflix shows or having emotional conversations about real, deep things we’re experiencing in our lives.

August 19, 2018 was a stunning day and I’ll let it speak for itself but give a bit of background information. Their ceremony was at the Confederation Centre of the Arts in Memorial Hall. They had a friend perform their ceremony that all guests attended, while earlier I performed a legal ceremony to a select few witnesses in order for their marriage to be official. To this day, the set up at CCoA has been my favourite way I’ve seen Memorial Hall set for a ceremony. We had a circular ceremony where guests sat 360 degrees around Roberta & Sean, with four aisles, and draping and gorgeous floral arrangements created a makeshift chuppah for them to stand under. After cocktail hour at CCoA, guests were bussed to PEIBC for an evening jam packed with heartfelt speeches, full belly laughs, amazing live musical entertainment and dancing until they physically couldn’t anymore. I spent the year ahead of time collecting vintage oil lamps and brass candlesticks to execute our combined vision of vintage elegance, and ended up making stone table numbers to add contrast to the centrepieces - love!

Big thank you to all of the vendors who helped make this day a success!
