The One With the Missing Suit
This week’s wedding recap brings us back to a sunny day in July of 2018. Do you remember hearing about a Best Man who’s suit went flying off the roof of his car and spent a few days missing? Yep, that was Tessa & Adam’s wedding! I don’t think Kris will ever live that one down, but thanks to the kindness of Islanders, his suit was returned before the wedding and the story will become just another laugh to look back on.
I know I say it all the time and I’m a broken record at this point, but I really love the connections I make in this career. Tessa is one of those bright and bubbly people who you just can’t help but want to stop and talk to. I have a vivid memory of sitting with her at PEIBC for a meeting that should have only taken us an hour or so but because we just couldn’t stop talking, I think it ended up being almost three. Her smile just totally lights up the room and the way Adam looks at her could make anyone weak in the knees. They welcomed their first baby, sweet little Rooney, last December and I’m fully loving following along on their family adventures!
Okay, so back to the wedding! Tessa envisioned bright and colourful, just like her personality, and I was really excited to see that come to life at Clinton Hills. Barb at Island Meadow Farms created some beautiful bouquets centered around peonies - which many of my brides have since used as inspiration for their own bouquets! She also provided us with buckets of flowers to create arrangements in my collection of vintage bud vases, which we lined the tables with - the flowers were really able to speak for themselves! This was also one of the very few weddings that used my sandstone table numbers before I retired them - those things were SO heavy, but I really loved them! I LOVED Tessa’s combination of bridesmaids dresses and that she had each groomsman’s tie or bowtie coordinate with his respective bridal attendant. Adam’s, “I got the girl” fist pump and the confetti at their recessional were two of my favourite moments of the day!
One of Clinton Hills’ selling features is the expansive property and the many photo locations it boasts without having to walk more than a few minutes in any direction. The woods, the fields, the hills, the courtyard, the barn - so many options that showcase the Island’s natural beauty! Take a look for yourself <3
Thank you again Adam & Tessa for your support and trust in me, and for your continued friendship!
